Drills are tailored to the specific needs of the trainee with substantial focus on technique and comprehension of the goalkeeper’s role. Technique is the foundation of a great goalkeeper and trainers ensure all goalkeepers understand the technical aspect of the position in order to then relate it to game-like scenarios. Trainer’s incorporate game-like situations into individual sessions to assure cognitive development, as opposed to just technical repetition. LIGA prides itself on its unique methodology which has consistently placed keepers into elite institutions. Through these individual sessions, goalkeepers will extend their potential, knowledge, and confidence in the position.

Small Group sessions are essential to the development of a goalkeeper, and their progression with game decisions. Though technique is always crucial to any training setting, LIGA’s group sessions offer an added sense of team and provide an environment for globalized game scenarios. These sessions elevate the competitive aspect of the position and keepers are placed in a setting where they challenge one another to keep up to the level of their small group. Drills are designed to replicate match scenarios with room for individual creativity in the defensive, offensive, and transitional phases of the game.

Our clinics provide specialized training on specific topics. Through our clinics, LIGA has the ability to heavily focus on a specific aspect of the position to help goalkeepers dissect and comprehend the topic in focus. The objective of our clinics is to ensure comprehension of the technique and its application in specific situations, as well as analyzing the tactical variables within the play.

Our summer and winter camps are an exciting opportunity for the best goalkeepers on Long Island to work together and push each other under the expertise of LIGA coaches. Camps do not only ensure proper technical development, but they also provide a competitive environment revolving around goalkeeper specific training games. Goalkeepers have the unique opportunity to be placed in a competitive and supportive group environment that will raise the level of their game and their confidence. We value the technical, physical, psychological and social elements of all of the goalkeepers. This allows each individual to express themselves and develop their skills further.

Most clubs do not focus enough on analyzing games and practices of keepers. LIGA is proud to offer this service in which goalkeepers have the ability to consult with a LIGA trainer to watch either an in-person game or game film. Our trainers will offer thorough feedback, diving into the details of the tactics and technique seen or needing improvement in the match.. Professionals have confirmed that their game performance elevated once they were willing to analyze their own footage. We are excited to offer this service as we know the direct impact this has  a greater understanding of the game and individual development
